Local business helping power the SEC Renewable Energy Park - Horsham

08 July 2026

For Chris Ellis, being involved in the SEC Renewable Energy Park - Horsham was an opportunity to support a major local project while doing what Middy’s Horsham does best - supplying the electrical products that keep projects moving.

Middy's team

Chris is the Branch Manager of Middy’s Horsham, part of Middy’s Electrical, a privately owned Australian family business supplying electrical products to trades and industry across the country.

“We supply electrical products to the SEC Renewable Energy Park - Horsham including cable, underground conduit, light fittings, conduit fittings, circuit breakers and switchgear - all the general wiring products needed to help fit out the site,” said Chris.

Middy’s Horsham regularly supports local domestic and commercial projects and Chris said renewable energy developments like the SEC Renewable Energy Park - Horsham are of a different scale and require more specialised products.

“It’s a lot more industrial than typical work and involves more specialised bits and pieces,” said Chris.

Chris first became involved in the project after attending local information sessions and meeting with the team from PSD Energy, the project’s delivery partner.

“We knew the project was coming to town, so we attended some of the information days and sat down with the team at PSD to discuss how we could support the project,” said Chris.

Participating in the project was also a valuable opportunity for the business to continue building experience in the renewable energy sector.

“We’ve worked on other solar projects in the past and we’d certainly look to do more in the future. Being involved in projects like this is great for the region and good for local business,” said Chris.

Chris said he encourages other local suppliers to explore opportunities on renewable energy projects.

“I’d recommend sitting down with the project team and working out where your business can contribute. For us, being in the electrical industry meant it was a really good fit,” said Chris.

Through projects like the Horsham Renewable Energy Park, SEC is committed to working with local suppliers and businesses wherever possible to help deliver benefits for regional communities.
