SEC electric home planner

Calling all residents in the City of Merri-bek, Casey and Ballarat!

We’re testing added functionality that connects you with SEC-endorsed installers that service your local area. This functionality is being rolled out in the City of Casey, the City of Merri-bek from 26 August and in the City of Ballarat in September.

If you live outside these council areas, you can still use our planner to start your electric home plan.

The pilot is a key step in developing a full-service SEC one-stop shop to help Victorians cut their energy bills and emissions.

If you are renting, there are many ways to reduce your energy bills:

• Victorian Energy Compare is the government's independent energy price comparison website. You can easily compare current energy offerings to find a better/lower offer.
• Talk to your rental provider about switching to efficient electric appliances when they need replacing.  Our planner can help provide some guidance on where to start.
• Your rental provider could be entitled to discounts. The Victorian Energy Upgrades program offers discounts on energy efficient products like hot water heat pumps and reverse-cycle air conditioners. Solar Victoria also has a $1,400 rebate for rental providers who install solar on their properties.
• Learn more about the cheap or no-cost tweaks you can do around the home to reduce your energy usage.
