SEC Delburn Wind Farm

The SEC Delburn Wind Farm delivers Victoria’s first 100% publicly owned, utility-scale wind generation project just south of the Latrobe Valley in Gippsland.

Once operational in 2028, the 33-turbine wind farm will generate up to 205-megawatts of renewable energy, enough to power more than 130,000 homes.

SEC is working with OSMI Australia to build and deliver the project.

SEC’s anticipated capital expenditure of $600-$700 million brings significant local economic benefits, including more than 300 local jobs.

It will contribute more than $22 million in neighbour and community benefit sharing programs over its 35-year operational life.

The project also serves as beacon for renewable energy generation investment in the region – the historical heart of Victoria’s integrated power system.

Community Benefit Fund

In 2026, the SEC Delburn Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund will invest $150,000 in the communities surrounding the wind farm.

Applications for the Delburn Community Benefit Fund are now closed.

Thank you to everyone who applied. Applications are currently being assessed, and applicants will be notified of the outcome once the assessment process is complete.

Offsite Landscaping Program

The SEC Delburn Wind Farm Offsite Landscaping Program has been established to support eligible homes neighbouring the project to screen and filter views of wind turbines. The program, which is part of the wind farm’s planning approvals, offers planting and maintenance of trees and vegetation.
